No. 1A brief introduction
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment operates Cascades Casino Delta, which opened its doors on 29 September 2022. The address is 6005 Highway 17A, Delta.
Measured as a straight line rather than by road, the casino lies about 8.5 km from Richmond city centre and about 11 km from River Rock Casino Resort. Guests who would rather visit a smaller venue may find it worth a look.
No. 2Hours and admission
Whereas River Rock stays open through the night, Cascades Casino Delta closes each night. Its published hours are set out below.
| Day | Casino | Live tables |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | 11 am to midnight | 2 pm to midnight |
| Monday to Thursday | 11 am to midnight | 4 pm to midnight |
| Friday | 11 am to 2 am | 4 pm to 2 am |
| Saturday | 11 am to 2 am | 2 pm to 2 am |
If you intend to play at the live tables, you may wish to plan on arriving in the afternoon or evening.
Admission is governed by the rules that apply across the province. In British Columbia, gambling is limited to adults aged 19 and over. Since 26 June 2023, each person entering a B.C. casino has been required to present a physical photo ID issued by a government when arriving. Copies and photos of an ID are not accepted. At the entrance, security staff scan each ID and compare it with the list of individuals barred from gambling facilities, a list that includes people enrolled in Game Break. BCLC states that it keeps no personal information about guests who are admitted.
No. 3The gaming floor
According to the venue, the floor holds more than 500 slot machines, along with 18 live table games and a selection of electronic table games. Poker is not offered: none of the 18 live tables is a poker table, and the casino has no poker room.
Encore Rewards is the loyalty program here. Joining costs nothing, and guests may enrol at the Guest Services desk with valid ID.
As in every casino in B.C., GameSense Advisors and a GameSense Info Centre are available on site. Guests are welcome to ask them about play or about setting limits.
No. 4Dining and amenities
The operator names three places to eat and drink:
- MATCH Eatery & Public House
- the Summit Bar
- The Buffet
The desk does not list hours for these outlets, so you may wish to consult the venue's site before planning a meal.
Delta Hotels Vancouver Delta, a Marriott property, shares the site. Its guest services desk may be reached at 604-382-8222.
The venue says that customers with disabilities can use the facility, and that wheelchairs, communication supports and accessible formats may be requested.
No. 5How it compares with River Rock
The comparison below draws only on figures that each venue publishes. Fuller details on River Rock may be found on the desk's River Rock Casino Resort page.
| Feature | Cascades Casino Delta | River Rock Casino Resort |
|---|---|---|
| Slot machines | More than 500 | Over 1,100 |
| Live table games | 18 | More than 80 |
| Electronic tables | Yes (number not published) | 108 terminals |
| Poker room | None | 10 tables |
| Late hours | Closes at midnight (Sun to Thu) or 2 am (Fri and Sat) | Tables run to 4 am Mon to Thu, and without a break from 10 am Friday until 4 am Monday |

Taken together, the Delta venue is the quieter and more compact choice, with earlier closing times. River Rock has the larger floor, a poker room and table play far later into the night.
No. 6Before you set out
No route to this venue is published by the desk. If you are travelling by transit, you may wish to plan the journey with TransLink, and if you are driving, you may wish to work out the route before leaving.
To confirm hours on the day of your visit, guests may telephone 604-921-3200. The casino's official site is delta.cascadescasino.ca. All nine venues in Metro Vancouver appear in the desk's register of nearby casinos.
