No. 1No accounts and no forms
The desk is an independent visitor's guide. It is not a casino, takes no bets and offers no sign-up or log-in.
None of the pages has a form that sends information to the desk. You may read every page without giving a name, an email address or any other detail.
No. 2What stays in your browser
Two features remember your choices so that the guide behaves as you would expect on your next visit:
- Request card answers. Your selections are kept in your own browser and are not sent to the desk.
- Theme choice. The light or dark setting you pick is also kept in your browser.
You may wish to clear this information at any time through your browser's settings for site data.
No. 3Advertising and the paid link
The desk uses no advertising trackers, and the inner pages carry no advertisements.
The site has one paid link. When it is followed, it passes through a short redirect page hosted on this site and then on to the partner. Once you reach the partner's site, its own privacy policy applies, and you may wish to read it before sharing any details there. The arrangement is described on How the desk is funded.
No. 4Fonts, images and server logs
Fonts and images are served from this site rather than from outside services, so loading a page does not send your request to a third party for these files.
Like any web server, the server that hosts the desk may record basic technical details in its logs, including IP addresses. These logs are part of how a website operates and are not used to build profiles of visitors.
No. 5Getting in touch
The desk does not keep a mailbox. There is therefore no correspondence to store and no mailing list to join.
For more on how the guide is written and checked, you may wish to see Desk standards and About the desk.
