No. 1An overview of the venue

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has operated Cascades Casino Langley, on Langley City's Fraser Highway, ever since its construction in 2005.

Measured in a straight line rather than by road, the casino lies 35.7 km from River Rock and 35.3 km from Richmond city centre. Of the nine casinos the desk covers, none is farther away, so you may wish to plan a visit as a full outing rather than a brief trip from your hotel. The official Cascades Casino Langley site carries current details.

No. 2Hours and admission

The casino says it operates 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Guests who wish to telephone may reach the main number at 604-530-2211.

Admission is limited to guests aged 19 and over, as at all casinos in British Columbia, and valid photo identification issued by a government must be shown on arrival. Under the venue's code of conduct, staff may also request identification at any point in a visit. Each ID is scanned by security and compared against a register of persons restricted from entering, which includes those enrolled in Game Break. For guests who are admitted, no personal information is retained.

The same code of conduct prohibits photography, filming and live streaming unless authorized.

Sharing the casino's address, the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre sits alongside it. In 2018 the operator put the hotel at 77 rooms. There is no swimming pool, and parking is free for hotel and convention-centre guests. Reservations may be made at 604-530-1500. Also on the property are a medical spa, Spa Tru, and a convention centre of more than 26,000 sq ft with a ballroom seating up to 650.

Guests should note that the property no longer has a show theatre. The Summit Theatre, which seated 420, closed in early 2018 and was converted into a bingo hall. On request, guests may arrange wheelchairs, communication supports and accessible formats.

No. 6Planning your visit

Next to the casino is the Langley Centre bus exchange. TransLink's schedule data shows routes 320, 501, 502 and 503 connecting the exchange with Surrey Central Station. You may wish to plan the whole trip from Richmond with TransLink before setting out.

Construction is under way on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain extension, a 16 km line from King George Station to Langley City. The province anticipates service in late 2029, and until then the terminus, Langley City Centre Station (203 St. and Industrial Ave), remains closed.

A source-of-funds declaration is required for buy-ins of $10,000 or more in cash, bank drafts or certified cheques within 24 hours. Every B.C. casino has GameSense Advisors on site.
